Let’s Tackle hunger together – the big game is Sept. 7
Things can get tense in the office around football season… turn that competitive energy into a rallying cry to give back. Host a food (and fund) drive around the Iowa and Iowa State Game (Sept. 7).
A record 70k individuals got help from our network of food pantries in the last 12 months… that is more than the capacity of Kinnick Stadium at the University of Iowa. When you tally up all their visits, we supported nearly 325,000 full pantry services in the year. That is nearly as many people attended a football game last season at Iowa State University.
As the need continues to grow, we need everyone to step up to help us meet this challenge.

Peanut Butter, fruit canned in its own juice, and Whole Grain Cereals.
Make it Fun!
Here are some ideas to create some competition
Boss for a Day: The top donor gets to be “Boss for a Day,” making lighthearted decisions like dress code or what snacks are served in the break room.
Pie in the Face: The team that donates the most gets to throw a pie in the face of a willing leader or colleague.
*Parking Spot Perks: The top donor or team gets access to the best parking spots for a month.
Office Karaoke: The person or team that raises the least has to perform an office karaoke song chosen by the top donors.
Casual Day Coupons: Employees earn coupons for casual dress days based on their donation levels. The more you donate, the more days you get!
Boss’s Chair Swap: The highest donor gets to steal the boss’s chair for a day, complete with special privileges like extra break time.
Secret Shout-Outs: For each donation, employees can send anonymous “shout-outs” or compliments to their colleagues, which are read aloud or posted publicly.
Complimentary Car Wash: The winning team receives a complimentary car wash service, either by a professional or a team of volunteer colleagues.
Half-Day Coupons: Chance to win coupons that can be used to leave work early on a Friday afternoon.
Lunch with or without the Boss… but the Boss pays!
*Name the Conference Room: The team that raises the most gets to rename a conference room, and it stays that way until the next competitive drive.
Reverse Secret Santa: For every donation made, employees are entered into a drawing to win a mystery gift from the leadership team.
Mystery Box: Create a mystery box filled with fun prizes. Each donation gives an employee a chance to pick a prize without knowing what’s inside.
Decorate the Boss’s Office: The top donors get to decorate the boss’s office with a fun theme.
“Donate to Win” Raffle: Each donation gets an entry into a raffle for a desirable prize, like a day off, gift cards, or a tech gadget.
VIP Break Room: Create a “VIP” section in the break room with premium snacks and beverages, available only to those who donate.
