Giving to DMARC
Supporting DMARC through a cash or in-kind contribution are both great ways to help your community and neighbors in need. Whatever your contribution, DMARC will use it effectively and efficiently right here in your community. There are several ways to support DMARC too!
You can give a gift today. You can also give a planned gift to help us with our future needs.
We are available to assist you in whatever way you want to help. To learn more or how you might make the most impact with your support, please contact Leslie Garman, Director of Development & Outreach, at (515) 277-6969 x215 or email her at lgarman@dmarcunited.org.
Make an online Donation Now
You can make a contribution today by either contributing online. Our online donation form allows for the option to do recurring gifts as well as ACH payments.
GIVE NOWHost a Drive
Hosting a food and fund drive is a fun, easy, and effective way to engage with DMARC – we also offer a virtual drive option.
Donate Food
Donated food accounts for 23% of our Food Pantry Network’s annual budget. Your donation of food either individually or through an organization is very important to us! You can give in many ways, including through our Red Barrel Program or by hosting a fund or food drive.
Food donations may be dropped off to DMARC anytime Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at our warehouse at 100 Army Post Road, Des Moines, IA 50315.
Donor Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund is a dedicated charitable investment account that can be used to support a nonprofit organization such as DMARC. A fund may be established by making a contribution to a nonprofit organization that supports such funds (such as the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines). You can then be eligible for an immediate tax deduction. To learn more, visit https://www.fidelitycharitable.org/philanthropy/what-is-a-donor-advised-fund.shtml.
DMARC is an IRS-qualified nonprofit from which you can then recommend grants to, over time. The donor advised fund also has the advantage that is invested and grows tax-free.
If you don’t need to make a required minimum distribution, it may make sense to explore other options, such as a donation of appreciated securities. Donors should always consult a tax advisor to determine the best strategy for their situation.
Endow Iowa Fund
DMARC’s Endow Iowa Fund is housed at the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. When you contribute to it, you: 1) help DMARC; 2) make a gift to the future of Iowa; and 3) receive a generous 25% state tax credit.
Estates and Planned Giving
Planned Giving is a wonderful way for you to leave a lasting legacy. And a planned gift to DMARC will help us continue to fulfill our mission of meeting our community’s needs for years to come.
There are several ways that you can make a planned gift. Two of the simplest: you can make a bequest in your will naming DMARC or make DMARC a beneficiary within your life insurance policy. You can also name DMARC in your IRA, Retirement Plan, or Annuity.
