When: Every Sunday home game during the Iowa Cubs season (March through September)

Where: Look for the DMARC booth located outside Gate B at Principal Park

What to bring: Three non-perishable food items per ticket

What you get: One free general admission ticket to that day’s game

Double The Fun… Triple The Fun… Home Run!

Bring the whole family, bring your friends from the office, invite your whole youth group. There is no limit as to how many people can participate!

Why This Partnership Matters

This collaboration between the Iowa Cubs and DMARC directly supports our Des Moines Metro neighbors in need through DMARC’s Food Pantry Network. Your donations stay right here in the Des Moines area, helping neighbors who are facing food insecurity.

DMARC assisted over 75,500 unique individuals across the metro last year. Consistent donations from programs like this help keep their shelves stocked with essential items that every household can rely on.

Most Needed Items

While any non-perishable food donation is appreciated, several items are especially helpful:

Most needed items
  • Healthy, high-fiber/low-sugar cereal – Great for families with children and provides nutritious breakfast options
  • Peanut butter – A protein-rich staple that’s versatile and has a long shelf life
  • Fruit canned in its own juice – Provides essential nutrients without added sugars

These items are frequently requested because they offer good nutritional value and can be used in multiple ways by families stretching their food budgets.

Making an Even Bigger Impact

Consider making this a family or group activity! Bring friends, coworkers, or family members – each person can bring three items for their own ticket, multiplying your community impact while enjoying the game together.

You can also encourage local businesses, schools, or community groups to organize food drives leading up to Sunday games, making it easier for people to participate while building community engagement.
