Ever had questions about the produce you find at the food pantry?
Not sure about what foods to recommend for low-sodium diets? Don’t recognize the seasonal produce item? How do you prepare food you don’t cook with at home? There can be a lot of nutrition questions thrown your way when volunteering at the food pantry. Join us on Sept. 2 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. as we empower volunteers like you with the information you need to feel successful with pantry shoppers. This information covers the basics of things like the USDA My Plate recommendations, food safety and storage, and common questions that you might get about items in the pantry. This is a free event, but registration is limited. Please pre-register to attend.
