Ajit has been volunteering with the food delivery program since February 2024 and appreciates the flexibility to give back. He heard about DMARC through visiting the Des Moines Zen Center. For many of those he interacts with through the DMARC delivery program, getting out of the house is a great challenge due to mobility issues or other problems with transportation.
He appreciates the small interactions that help brighten other people’s days. A recent delivery reminded him of this when he commented on how wonderful their rose bush was looking and they shared that they hadn’t even had a chance to get out of the house and look at them.
“The people are just so grateful. It’s the human interaction and being able to do something to give back that I am grateful for.”
