Get Crafty For Spring Greens

DMARC’s annual signature fundraising event, Spring Greens, is coming up on April 30, and we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the DMARC Food Pantry Network. One of the easiest ways to get involved is by getting creative and crafty with the Pallet Project Challenge. Each project will transform ordinary pallets into unique and creative designs, supporting DMARC’s efforts to fight food insecurity through the DMARC Food Pantry Network.

Please contact Leslie L. Garman, CFRE, if you have questions about the process and getting started:

How it works

Organizations, groups, or individuals are invited to design and construct unique pallet-based creations. This opportunity is open to any group willing to get creative and follow our safety/design guidelines. DMARC provides the pallets for you to use, and you provide the fun!

You can create a work of art or a functional piece of décor (or a combo of both). Pallets are important to DMARC’s work and are used for stacking and shipping food to the DMARC Food Pantry Network partners! These creations will then be displayed at DMARC’s signature event, Spring Greens on April 30th where attendees will also have the opportunity to “vote” for their favorite design!

Steps to Success

Participants in the Harvest Academy therapeutic community recognized the need in our community while volunteering in the DMARC warehouse. They worked together to build a deck chair project for the 2025 event that helped raise the equivalent of 4,000+ meals.

Palette designs will then be auctioned off at the event. Groups are responsible for following the project guidelines and sending a photo of the finished project by April 3 to DMARC.

  • Get out the Vote: Use social media and word of mouth to encourage others to support DMARC and vote for your submission as the fan favorite.
  • Celebrate your Hard Work: Join us on April 30th at DMARC for the Spring Greens event and share with attendees about your experience. The final 10 pallet sponsors will each receive 2 free tickets to Spring Greens.

Project Guidelines

  • Materials: DMARC will provide complimentary pallets for each pallet project. All other materials should be sourced independently. Participants are encouraged to be creative! There are also local nonprofits that specialize in building items.
  • Dimensions: Maximum dimensions for each assembled piece should be no larger than 76 inches tall and 60 inches wide to ensure that each piece can safely enter the event venue.
  • Safety: All creations should be free of sharp edges, splinters, or hazardous materials in order to ensure the safety of our team and guests at the event.
  • Theme: We encourage you to create a design that also provides an opportunity for reflection and intersects with DMARC’s mission. For additional inspiration/ideas, please contact DMARC.
  • Originality: Participants are encouraged to think outside the box as well as incorporate color and other surprise elements into the design.
Completion Deadline:

The official entry form, including a photo of the finished project, must be submitted by 11:59 PM on April 3.

A maximum of 10 designs will be selected and staged at our actual Spring Greens, where an overall favorite will be voted on by event attendees. The final 10 pallet sponsors will each receive 2 free tickets to Spring Greens. ALL submissions will be photographed and pictured at the event and on social media.

Dates to remember

  • February: Sometimes the hardest part is getting started. Let DMARC know that you want to participate, and we can help provide support!
